    Deputy Commissioner’s Message

    Varun Mitra

Tatkarma yanna bandhay sa vidya ya vimuktaye. Aayasayaparam karma vidanya shilpanaipunam. – Shri Vishnupuran

That which does not create bondage is the karma and that which paves the way for liberation is vidya.

The rest of the karma is hard work and other vidyas are mere art and skill.

Indian sages and wise men have called knowledge (vidya) as the means of man’s liberation. Man has desired freedom from fear, hunger, bad habits, bad tendencies, bad conduct, weakness, poverty and inferiority, disease, grief etc. since time immemorial. The above mahavaky of Shri Vishnu Puran gives the message that man should make efforts to get freedom from all his sufferings through knowledge. Vidya is the fruit of sacrifice and penance, hence the attainment of knowledge is always laborious.

Come, let us all be disciplined, make a sincere effort to acquire knowledge by using all the available resources in a dignified manner with a spirit of dedication.
We all recite this sutra from Taitriya Upanishad of Krishna Yajurveda every day in the morning prayer assembly in our schools:-
Om Sah Navavatu Sah Nau Bhunaktu, Sah Viryam Karvaav hai.
Tejasvi Navadhitamstu ma Vidvishavhai, Om ShantiH ShantiH ShantiH.

Let us understand the great message hidden in this sutra and imbibe it in our lives and do our daily work. I send my heartfelt best wishes to all the principals, teachers, students, officers and personnel of Gurugram division and wish them a successful and happy future.
